The Annemarie Opprecht - Foundation was established in 1998 and sponsored by Annemarie Opprecht, a Swiss philantropist.

The specific aim of the Foundation is to promote medical, or medical related research in the field of Parkinson's disease on an international level.

Therefore the Foundation presents at regular intervals the Annemarie Opprecht Parkinson Award in the amount of 100'000 Swiss francs.

The next award will be presented for the fifth time in the year 2012.

Previous awards were presented in 1999, 2002, 2005 and 2008.
